Violets or Rain

"When the time is ripe for certain things, these things appear in different places in the manner of violets coming to light in the early spring." -  Farkas Bolyai  It has rained too much this year and the usual signs of early spring never appeared. Were the figurative violets fail to appear would it imply the lack of ripeness for certain things. The fact that the rain pounded on the promise of spring to where it stamped out all its signs would imply the presence of other things more powerful than the season itself. I also love this Langston Hughes poem   Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk. The rain makes running pools in the gutter. The rain plays a little sleep-song on our roof at night— And I love the rain.
