This Quartz story about income gap and internet speed seems like a metaphor for speed of change and progress in various parts of the world. Speed confers advantage to those who are able to achieve it so the rest have no choice but to catch up leading to accelerationsim for all. For those who end up falling behind, they may gain in serenity what they give up in "progress".
It would be interesting to see if there might be an inverse relationship between the happiest countries and the overall speed of life including access to internet. If it took twenty two hours to download a movie, chances are the person will not indulge in binge watching. Furthermore, they might be a lot more deliberate in their choice of movie to download.
crossings as in traversals, contradictions, counterpoints of the heart though often not..
